In this intensive two-day workshop, you’ll develop the skills necessary to translate light into the language of paint. You'll learn to paint quickly and efficiently and deal with the challenges of plein air painting. Each session will provide a supportive environment for the beginner and a challenging new way to consider the landscape and figure for the more advanced painter.
Eli will introduce an innovative method that will simplify your approach to painting. You’ll learn to capture the scene before you with an dynamic design and correct color relationships. The focus will be on painting the light and atmospheric conditions surrounding our subject. With this approach you learn to simplify value patterns to achieve unity and impact, see both color and value as a unit and quickly mix the color you are seeing. With this approach it’s easy to establish a pattern informed by the direction of the sun.
